When it comes to methods for getting rich in Minecraft, what’s the first method that comes to mind, fellow adventurers?
Is it raising pigs, farming trees, or mining day and night—these slower, steady methods? Or is it getting rich by exploring desert temples, ocean monuments, and woodland mansions through adventure?
Well, let me tell you—none of those! The fastest way to get rich in the game is… fish bombing~
Now, the “fish bombing” mentioned here isn’t the low-effort, time-consuming method of throwing explosives into the sea. Instead, it involves leveraging the properties of two magical blocks to create a fully automatic fish farm! Let the fish come to you willingly~
First, let’s introduce these two magical blocks: one is Soul Sand, and the other is Cobweb!
As is well known, when Soul Sand comes into contact with water, it produces a large number of bubbles. These bubbles can push entities upward. The property of Cobwebs, on the other hand, is to trap these fish, ensuring that the fish pushed up by the Soul Sand bubbles cannot return to the sea!
Based on these two properties, combined with a simple Redstone system to free your hands, you can easily build a fully automatic fish-bombing farm!
Let’s first introduce the required functional blocks. Besides the two main blocks mentioned above, you’ll also need to prepare Hoppers, Minecarts with Hoppers, Powered Rails, and other blocks. I’ve prepared everything for you~
Alright, without further ado, let’s get started~
First, go to the seabed and arrange Soul Sand in a “日” character shape (like a 3×3 grid missing the center four blocks, forming a border), so that fish can be pushed up by the bubbles.
Then, on the water surface, use blocks to enclose the bubble area, leaving three gaps. Place a Hopper in one gap and two Redstone blocks in the other two. Behind the Hopper, place a Barrel facing the Hopper. Place a door between the Barrel and the Hopper for access.
Next, build corner pillars two blocks high around the enclosure and box in the machine with blocks. As you can see, the fish are already eager to get in~
Now, it’s time to lay down our rail system and minecarts. Place three Powered Rails on the blocks directly above and below the Redstone blocks, and place regular Rails in all other positions to form a closed rail loop.
Remember how we used Soul Sand to fill a “日” character-shaped area on the seabed? Those two empty gaps will now come in handy. On the water surface directly above these two gaps, place one block of flowing water each to push the suffocated fish toward the minecarts.
Great! At this point, this fully automatic fish-bombing farm is 90% complete. For the final step, to increase its efficiency, let’s place our Cobwebs~
By laying a ring of Cobwebs like this, we don’t have to worry about fish, now out of the ocean, jumping out of our fish bomber. Moreover, it effectively shortens their suffocation time—how convenient!
In just a short while, our Barrel is already filled with many fish!
